Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory Program

NASA's Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory is an active multiwavelength space telescope launched on 20 November 2004 to detect and rapidly follow gamma-ray bursts with gamma-ray, X-ray, ultraviolet, and visible-light instruments. NASA also uses Swift as a general observatory for transient and high-energy astrophysics, with an orbit-boost effort intended to extend its science lifetime.
