NewAthena Program

ESA’s NewAthena is a planned Cosmic Vision flagship X-ray observatory, the revised form of the Athena mission, intended to investigate the hottest and most energetic phenomena in the universe, including the growth of black holes and the assembly of ordinary matter into galaxies and clusters. ESA leads the mission with NASA partnership and a planned 2037 Ariane 6.4 launch.
