Orbiting Carbon Observatory-3 Program

Orbiting Carbon Observatory-3 (OCO-3) is NASA’s active Earth System Science Program instrument mission attached to the International Space Station. Launched on 3 May 2019 and installed on the Japanese Experiment Module Exposed Facility, it provides targeted, high-resolution observations of atmospheric carbon dioxide and solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence over cities and ecosystems, revealing local emissions, plant health, and water stress at different times of day.
