Polaris Project: Autonomous Satellite Technology for Resilient Application (ASTRA) is a completed NASA Stennis Space Center demonstration of autonomous operations in orbit. As a payload rider on Sidus Space’s LizzieSat-1, ASTRA implemented distributed vehicle and electrical-power system managers, integrated system-health and resource management, and a G2 software-bus bridge to cFS. The project completed payload activation, primary mission objectives, and on-orbit integration testing in 2024, advancing NPAS flight heritage for Artemis and Moon-to-Mars systems.
