Polaris Project: Tall Lunar Tower (TLT)

The Tall Lunar Tower project developed and demonstrated supervised autonomous robotic assembly of a tall truss tower for lunar-surface power, communications, and navigation infrastructure. The work raised tower-assembly technologies toward TRL 4, produced tower and robotic-assembly engineering development units, and completed a September 2023 laboratory demonstration assembling and raising a 3.5-meter tower. The effort also studied dust-tolerant joints, ISRU-compatible truss components, vision, simulation, and scalable assembly for future lunar infrastructure.
