Completed NASA Game Changing Development project led by AI SpaceFactory, Inc. with Kennedy Space Center support that developed and optimized a simulated lunar regolith-polymer composite for additive construction under lunar conditions. REACT-ACO demonstrated subscale printing of an unpressurized protective shelter in a simulated Lunar Dirty Thermal Vacuum environment, using Fused Filament Fabrication and closeout Fused Granular Fabrication methods. The construction approach targets durable lunar and Mars infrastructure such as shelters, blast protection, landing pads, roads, and habitats, advancing in-situ resource utilization for Artemis sustainable presence while addressing radiation, thermal gradients, meteoroids, and plume ejecta risks.
