Rotating Detonation Rocket Engine (RDRE)

Completed NASA Game Changing Development project led by Glenn Research Center that matured a rotating detonation rocket engine for higher-performance, compact propulsion. RDRE uses a transverse detonation wave in an annular combustor to increase pressure and enable short, throttling-capable chambers across a wide propellant range, reducing risk for landers and future Moon, Mars, and deep-space vehicles.
