SeaSTAR Program

ESA Earth Explorer 11 candidate selected in June 2021 for pre-feasibility study, SeaSTAR would measure high-resolution ocean-surface current and wind vectors across coastal oceans, shelf seas and marginal ice zones using a two-antenna along-track interferometry radar. ESA later reported that SeaSTAR was not selected for the next development phase, while noting that its assessment established scientific foundations for future coastal-ocean dynamics observations.
