NASA Tandem Reconnection and Cusp Electrodynamics Reconnaissance Satellites (TRACERS) is an active heliophysics program launched on 23 July 2025. Its two spacecraft fly through Earth’s polar cusps to study magnetic reconnection, how solar-wind energy enters the magnetosphere, and the effects of that interaction on Earth’s atmosphere and space weather.
