Ulysses Program

The joint ESA–NASA Ulysses mission surveyed the space environment above and below the Sun’s poles, making nearly three complete solar orbits during more than 18 years in service. Launched on October 6, 1990, Ulysses was managed by ESA and NASA with JPL support, shared scientific payload and ground operations, and ended after loss of contact in June 2009.
