Venus Express Programme

ESA’s Venus Express Programme was Europe’s first mission to Venus and delivered a global investigation of the planet’s atmosphere, clouds, plasma environment, and surface temperatures. Launched on 9 November 2005, it arrived at Venus on 11 April 2006, operated for eight years with extended observations and aerobraking, and ended on 16 December 2014 after its propellant was exhausted.
