WildFireSat

WildFireSat is Canada's planned government-owned satellite mission, led by the Canadian Space Agency for development and operations and targeted for launch in 2029. It will monitor active wildfires across Canada daily, provide near-real-time updates twice a day, help identify fires likely to spread out of control, improve smoke and air-quality forecasting, and support fire-management decisions. Natural Resources Canada's Canadian Forest Service and Canada Centre for Mapping and Earth Observation, together with Environment and Climate Change Canada, are mission collaborators.
