Northrop Grumman's catalog describes it as a medium-sized booster designed primarily for in-line use but configurable as a strap-on with movable-nozzle thrust-vector control; it has been used in both first- and second-stage applications. The catalog gives a 92-inch diameter, 355-inch length, 440,000 lbf (about 1,957.2 kN) maximum vacuum thrust, 280 seconds specific impulse, 79.4 seconds burn time, 30,000,000 lbf-sec total impulse, and TP-H1246 HTPB polymer with 19% aluminum.
