General Electric J35 is a retired axial-flow turbojet family that introduced GE’s axial-flow compressor architecture to U.S. military aviation. It powered the Lockheed P-80 Shooting Star, Northrop YB-49, and other early fighters and bombers, and a GE J35-powered Douglas D-558-1 Skystreak set a 1947 speed record. Exact production variants and aircraft installations remain separate identities.
