JT9D family

Pratt & Whitney JT9D is the pioneering high-bypass turbofan that entered service on the Boeing 747 in 1970. Its three series include JT9D-7 at 46,300–50,000 lb thrust, JT9D-7Q at 53,000 lb, and JT9D-7R4 at 48,000–56,000 lb; more than 3,200 engines were delivered for early Boeing 747/767, Airbus A300/A310, and McDonnell Douglas DC-10 fleets. Pratt & Whitney continues JT9D support through reduced-cost-of-ownership kits and aftermarket services.
