ESA identifies the rear Propulsion Module as a major Progress spacecraft module and states that it contains the engines for automatic docking and ISS reboost operations.
NASA states that Progress is based on Soyuz and uses essentially the same propulsion and service module at the rear of the spacecraft; Progress engines raise orbit and perform deorbit burns.
