Bristol Proteus

Historical Bristol Proteus turboprop engine developed by the Bristol Aeroplane Company and used as the four-engine powerplant of the Bristol Britannia family. Aerospace Bristol records the Britannia prototype's test programme with Bristol Proteus engines; museum records identify the engine as an aircraft-propulsion design by Bristol, while later Bristol Siddeley naming is retained as an alias.
