Salyut 6
Deorbited
Salyut 6 marked the Soviet program's shift from short station visits to sustained operations. NASA's Russian space station history describes its two docking ports, Progress freighter support, six long-duration crews, and international visiting cosmonauts. Soyuz 30 brought Pyotr Klimuk and Miroslaw Hermaszewski to Salyut 6 in 1978 for the second Interkosmos mission and Poland's first human spaceflight.
