University of Melbourne student rocketry team with more than 100 members designing, manufacturing, and launching high-power scientific rockets. Founded in 2019 and building rockets since 2022, ARES has flown four competition vehicles and develops airframes, recovery systems, avionics, telemetry, scientific payloads, and propulsion. Its current Odyssey project is the team's first fully student-researched-and-developed rocket and includes the student-built Genesis hybrid engine, with an initial test planned for late 2026 ahead of the 2027 International Rocket Engineering Competition.
