Grupo de Ingeniería Aeroespacial (GIA PUCP)
Grupo de Ingeniería Aeroespacial (GIA PUCP) is a multidisciplinary student aerospace group founded in 2023 at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. The university reported more than 90 members across engineering and other disciplines in 2026. Students designed, manufactured and launched Kuntur-1 with locally developed propellant, reaching 520 metres during a flight in Chincha. The group received the Team Conduct Award at the 2026 Latin American Space Challenge. Continuing Kuntur development targets repeatable launches and greater altitude, while hybrid propulsion and a multistage rocket remain early design projects.
