ITU Bellatrix Space Team
ITU Bellatrix Space Team is an Istanbul Technical University student project team founded in 2023 within the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics. It designs and builds human-powered exploration rovers for NASA’s Human Exploration Rover Challenge, combining vehicle engineering with simulated lunar and Martian terrain tasks. Bellatrix competed at HERC 2024 and received the Artemis Educator award. It was subsequently accepted for the 2025 human-powered competition. Alongside rover development, the team organized space and science activities for school students in earthquake-affected Doğanşehir. ITU’s October 2026 aerospace-team conference report documents the team’s continuing participation.
