ITU Uzaytek Aerospace

ITU Uzaytek Aerospace, also profiled by the university as Uzaytek Rocket Technologies, is an Istanbul Technical University student project team founded on 17 January 2022. Based at Gümüşsuyu Campus, it brings together students for design, manufacturing and testing of rockets, model satellites and UAVs. The university’s current directory documents two rocket, three satellite and one UAV project, with hybrid-rocket and model-satellite development continuing. The mechanical-engineering faculty lists its activities in rocketry, uncrewed aerial systems, open-source engineering software and artificial intelligence, including 2024 CanSat and TEKNOFEST projects. Uzaytek also organized the October 2026 ITU Space and Aviation Teams Conference, connecting twelve university aerospace project teams.
