Minho Aerospace Students’ Team (MAST) is a University of Minho student aerospace organization founded in 2024, with rocketry and CubeSat projects based at Azurém Campus in Guimarães. Its DAEDALUS division developed MIRAGE, a 2.56-metre experimental rocket with student-developed active control, onboard computing, sensors and parachute recovery. Fifty-two students from multiple engineering and applied-statistics disciplines contributed to the 2026 project. MIRAGE launched at EuRoC 2026, reached approximately 3,000 metres and was recovered, making MAST the first Portuguese team to launch and recover a rocket on its EuRoC debut. Its separate AURORA CubeSat project remains described by the team as undergoing ground validation.
