Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Prescott student Rocket Development Lab (RDL) designs, builds, and tests rockets and rocket engines through solid, hybrid, and liquid propulsion projects. The lab has more than 50 student members, operates with the Prescott Propulsion Laboratory and Rocket Test Complex, and has documented a rocket flight at 36,000 feet and 2.5 times the speed of sound plus a bi-propellant vehicle for the Friends of Amateur Rocketry Mars Society Launch contest.
