All Nations University

Ghanaian private university in Koforidua whose Space Systems Technology Laboratory developed GhanaSat-1, Ghana’s first satellite mission, and continues hands-on training and research in small-satellite design, systems engineering, mission operations, and Earth observation. The laboratory operates within the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering. GhanaSat-1 was built with international partners and deployed from the International Space Station’s Kibo module in July 2017. ANU-SSTL also participates in the African Development Satellite Project (AFDEVSAT), a collaboration involving Ghana, Egypt, Nigeria, Sudan, Kenya and Uganda. In its July 2026 account, the university describes AFDEVSAT as developing a 6U nanosatellite with hyperspectral imaging for agriculture and environmental monitoring.
