New Zealand’s largest university, offering postgraduate certificates, diplomas and a master’s degree in aerospace engineering. Te Pūnaha Ātea – Space Institute develops satellite missions and technologies with university and industry partners. In 2026 it began preparing TPA-2, a CubeSat intended to demonstrate six payloads, including a biological mini-laboratory, an optical identification beacon, a student-designed dragsail release mechanism and integrated avionics. The project connects scientific experiments with hands-on work in electronics, payload interfaces and spacecraft systems integration.
