Aichi B7A Ryusei Carrier Attack-Bomber Family
The Aichi B7A Ryusei was a large Japanese carrier attack aircraft designed to combine torpedo-bomber and dive-bomber roles. Its first prototype was completed in May 1942, while engine and development difficulties delayed production until 1944; the B7A2 remained a rare late-war Imperial Japanese Navy aircraft and the Smithsonian’s example is believed to be the only surviving aircraft.
