Airbus A340 Family

The Airbus A340 is a four-engine long-range widebody family developed alongside the twin-engine A330. The initial A340-200 and -300 combined a common Airbus flight deck and fuselage with the ability to serve long routes unconstrained by the overwater rules then applied to twin-engine aircraft. The later A340-500 and stretched A340-600 extended the family's range and capacity, and surviving aircraft continue in airline, government, and specialist service.
