The Antonov An-124 Ruslan is a four-engine heavy transport aircraft designed for outsized and very heavy cargo. Its high-wing airframe, kneeling landing gear, and front and rear cargo doors support rapid loading of large equipment, while separate military and civil-certified variants serve strategic airlift and commercial charter work. The An-124 first flew in 1982 and remains one of the largest production cargo aircraft.
