The Antonov An-24 is a rugged twin-turboprop regional transport designed for short and medium routes, including service from unpaved airfields. Its airframe generated a broad family: the An-26 added a rear cargo ramp and enlarged tail section, the An-30 specialized in aerial survey, and the An-32 adapted the transport for demanding hot-and-high operation. Thousands were built, and passenger, cargo, military, and specialist variants have served across many regions.
