Atlas-Agena B Launch Vehicle

Atlas-Agena B combined an Atlas D with the enlarged, restartable Agena B upper stage. NASA flew 13 such launch vehicles from 1961 through 1966 for Ranger lunar missions, the Mariner 1 and 2 Venus attempts, and OGO 1 and 3. Agena B's restart capability enabled an Earth parking orbit followed by injection toward the Moon or planets.
