The Avro 748, later known as the Hawker Siddeley HS 748, is a twin-turboprop regional transport developed as a robust successor to the DC-3. The prototype first flew in 1960. Civil airliners, military transports, and specialized Andover variants were built in Britain and under licence in India, and a small number of 748s remain in limited service.
