The Beriev Be-200 is a twin-engine jet amphibian developed from the larger A-40 concept for civil and emergency-service missions. Its boat hull, retractable landing gear, and high-mounted engines allow operation from runways or water while reducing spray ingestion. The best-known Be-200ChS version can scoop water for aerial firefighting and can also be configured for search and rescue, passenger or cargo transport, medical evacuation, and patrol duties.
