The Boeing 747-200B is the extended-range passenger version of the basic 747-100 series aircraft, certified by the FAA on December 23, 1970. Its strengthened structure, increased center-wing fuel capacity, higher gross weight, and revised engine installations established the principal long-range passenger branch of the classic 747; 747-200F and 747-200C cargo/converter branches remain separate boundaries.
