The Boeing 747-200F is the dedicated freighter version of the 747-200B series, certified by the FAA on March 7, 1972. Its upward-opening nose cargo door, reinforced main-deck floor and center wing, revised freight systems, and cargo smoke detection established the classic 747 freighter branch; passenger 747-200B and convertible 747-200C remain separate boundaries.
