The Boeing 747SR is a separately certified high-cycle short-range branch based on the 747-100, approved by the FAA on September 26, 1973. Structural and fatigue-life modifications supported dense short-haul operations in Japan and other high-frequency markets; the long-range 747-100, 747-200B, 747SP, and cargo branches remain separate boundaries.
