The AH-64 Apache is a twin-engine, tandem-crew attack helicopter family that grew from the Hughes Model 77/YAH-64 entry in the U.S. Army Advanced Attack Helicopter competition into a long-lived multinational rotorcraft line. Its integrated sensors, night-capable flight systems, survivability features, and continuing upgrades made the Apache a globally important military and reconnaissance platform; later AH-64D and AH-64E generations retain the basic family identity while adding digital mission systems and networked capability.
