The Boeing E-8C Joint STARS is a specialized airborne battle-management, command-and-control, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance aircraft operated by the U.S. Air Force. Built from extensively remanufactured Boeing 707-300 series airframes, it carries a canoe-shaped ventral radome and side-looking phased-array radar that provide near-real-time ground surveillance and targeting support.
