The Bombardier CL-415 is a purpose-built amphibious aircraft optimized for aerial firefighting. Developed from the piston-powered Canadair CL-215 and turboprop CL-215T, it can operate from land or alight on water to refill its tanks while moving across the surface. The aircraft remains in operational and manufacturer-supported service, with later CL-415EAF conversions extending the platform through avionics and mission-system upgrades.
