Bristol Type 167 Brabazon Transatlantic Airliner Prototype Family

The Bristol Type 167 Brabazon was an exceptionally large postwar British civil-aircraft design intended for luxurious nonstop transatlantic service. Its sole completed prototype combined a 230-foot wing with eight coupled Bristol Centaurus engines and a spacious passenger concept; although it never entered airline service, the project created Filton facilities and engineering experience that influenced later British large-airliner work.
