Curtiss P-40 Warhawk Fighter Family

The Curtiss P-40 was a single-engine fighter developed from the P-36 and adapted around the liquid-cooled Allison V-1710. Its rugged airframe and low-altitude performance made it a major Allied fighter during the first half of the Second World War, serving under different national names and in air forces across many theaters even as its high-altitude limitations shaped its tactical employment.
