Dassault Mirage G Variable-Sweep Experimental Aircraft Family
The Dassault Mirage G was a French experimental variable-sweep aircraft built to investigate how a pivoting wing could combine low-speed approach performance with high-speed flight. The single-engine two-seat demonstrator made its maiden flight in November 1967, opened a Mach 2.1 flight envelope in a short test programme, and led to the related G4/G8 prototypes before the overall programme was abandoned in 1968.
