Delta 3910/PAM-D Launch Vehicle

Delta 3910/PAM-D added the commercial McDonnell Douglas Payload Assist Module, using a Star 48 solid motor, to the two-stage Delta 3910. Seven vehicles flew successfully from November 1980 through June 1982. The first, Delta 153 with SBS-1, was the first use of PAM-D in place of a conventional Delta third stage.
