The Diamond DA42 Twin Star is a four-seat, twin-engine light-aircraft family built around a composite airframe, integrated glass cockpit, and fuel-efficient compression-ignition engines in its principal modern versions. It is used for private travel and multi-engine pilot training, while the DA42 MPP branch adapts the same airframe for remote sensing and other special missions. The prototype also became a museum object representing Austria's modern general-aviation industry.
