The Dornier Seastar is a twin-turboprop amphibious flying boat whose composite hull, retractable landing gear, and tandem push-pull engines are intended to combine maritime access with conventional-aircraft range and handling. Originally certified after 1980s flight testing, the design was revived as a new-generation program with a digital cockpit and updated systems. Flight-test prototypes support renewed certification work for private, corporate, commercial-passenger, cargo, and special-mission applications.
