China’s Einstein Probe is an active space X-ray observatory led by the Chinese Academy of Sciences with ESA, MPE, and CNES participation. Launched on 9 January 2024, its wide-field and follow-up X-ray telescopes survey transient high-energy events, including faint explosions and signals associated with gravitational-wave sources.
