The T-40 Newen is ENAER’s advanced development of the T-35 Pillán training concept for the Chilean military aviation ecosystem. The manufacturer describes updated avionics, extensive carbon-fibre construction, a redesigned wing, removable winglets and a new powerplant. The aircraft forms the centre of an integrated instruction system with flight simulation, mission planning, synchronized post-flight analysis and ground-based flight tracking. The system is intended to introduce student pilots early to technology and procedures used in more advanced military aircraft. Development status distinguishes this new design from the established T-35 fleet.
