Orihime was ETS-VII's cooperative target spacecraft, paired with the Hikoboshi chaser. Separation and redocking experiments used the target to validate relative navigation, approach, and capture techniques for future orbital operations. It was a separate free-flying spacecraft during the experiments, rather than a fixed docking fixture.
Future launches and major activity directly linked to this vehicle family.
