The Explorer 35 (AIMP-E / AIMP-6) family was a U.S. lunar-orbiter science spacecraft that operated for six years after entering lunar orbit in July 1967. It established that the Moon has no global magnetosphere, measured solar-wind interaction and the lunar environment, and was switched off in June 1973 before later impacting the Moon.
