Explorer 35 AIMP-E lunar observatory spacecraft family
Explorer 35, also known as AIMP-E or AIMP-6, was a 1967 NASA lunar observatory that entered lunar orbit on July 21. It studied the solar wind, interplanetary magnetic field, lunar gravity, dust, ionosphere, and radiation, discovered that the Moon lacks a magnetosphere, and operated successfully for six years before shutdown in 1973.
